Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Books

A subscription-based site whose best feature is their fee-based leveled book search engine.  However, they also have plenty of professional development resources, too.  Definitely worth the moderate cost.

Guys Read

One of my  (and my son’s favorite authors, Jon Scieszka, maintains a website dedicated to getting boys interested in reading.  There are lots of fantastic book recommendations here!

Nancy Keane’s Children’s Literature Webpage

Nancy Keane is a middle school librarian who runs this fantasic site.  She says, “this is the place to be when you are looking for ready-to-use booktalks, lists of recommended reading, book reviews by children or other information about children’s literature.”  Check out the book talks, as well as her “ATN Reading Lists,” for lists of books by author, genre, read aloud, “read alike” (if you liked Book X, then you might like Book Y), curriculum area, theme, and more.
